The
G.S. Rakovski street in
XIX th century was the main commercial and craftsman's streets of Veliko
Turnovo called WOOD NYMPH bazaar. Today a big part of the revival houses
and workshops are restored. The masters are working in on old and authentic
technologies in front of the visitors. This is one of the very few places
in Bulgaria where the real revival atmosphere is preserved.In
a many antique shops and kiosks for souvenirs could be bought a unique
articles or copies of ancient bracelets and other decorations, weapons,
fretwork, graphite ceramics and etc.
On the square
of "WOOD NYMPH bazaar " is the house of the Bulgarian writer
Emilian Stanev. The house is now made into museum. In this part of the
revival town have also many others architectural masterpieces of Kolu
Fitcheto master; "Hadji Nikola's pub" (1857), "the house
with the monkey" (1849), the churches "St. Nikolay" (1836),
and St.St. Cyril and Methodius" (1861)
