Two columns with manuscripts on Old-Bulgarian and Greek provides very valuable information for the building activity of the Bulgarian Khan Omurtag in VII century and for the military victories of the Bulgarian Tsar Ivan Assen II in XIII century. The church was built in honor of the victory of the Bulgarians against the Epirics on the 9th of March 1230. After this battle the Bulgarian became most powerful and greater State in Southeast Europe.
